This song actually found its origins in a group chat that I am in with all of my childhood buddies. We discuss a wide range of current topics and we were talking about what a wild time it is to be alive and how much everyone seems to be juggling these days. Everyone is hustling, trying to make a life for themselves and the ones they love, especially the single moms. Some one said, "Yea, we got moms out here on Tik Tok and OnlyFans!". The concept of "Moms on Tik Tok" stuck with me. I was also playing with a new outboard synth around this time and I designed a lead synth sound that I felt really captured the energy of the "Moms on Tik Tok" phenomenon that was floating around in my head. That is the lead synth you hear throughout the song.

I wanted the song to have a little bit of retro feel to it, to juxtapose against the contemporary relevance of the song's concept. I also wanted the songs arrangement and dynamics to reflect the quick pace of 21st century life, with the brief rests sprinkled in between the movement. There is also not a defined “hook” or “identifying section”, to represent how fluid the notion of “identity” can be today- one minute we are playing one role, the next minute another...especially the single moms.

This is a musical valentine to the 21st Century woman- fun, fierce and multi-faceted. Here's to all the super heroes out there.
